I’m ADD. I can’t keep a regular schedule!
Have you ever said that to yourself? I’ve felt it over the years through the continual struggles of starting and maintaining some kind of regular practice schedule. But, is it true? Can you not keep any kind of regular schedule, or routine? If that’s what you keep telling yourself, your simply wrong.
You Keep Other Schedules, Why Not Practice?
What time do you start your work? What time do your kiddos have to be at school? Do you go to work everyday? Do your kids go to school every day? Do you eat dinner or at least one meal every day? Then I would argue that you are able and, in fact, do maintain a regular routine schedule…at least with the important things.
I get it. We all do the things we need to do to survive, work, eat, sleep on a regular schedule. Although we might not always be on time we do find a way to maintain the schedule. So, if we can create some level of priority with our practice routine and find a reasonable, maintainable time of day to do it, perhaps we can achieve some success in achieving our music goals! Now, go do it! Shoot me an email to let me know how you’re doing with it. firstname.lastname@example.org
